SAE 80W90 transmission oil from ADDINOL
SAE class 80W90 transmission oils consist of high-quality base oils combined with an effective phosphorus-sulphur additive package. This gives them an outstanding viscosity-temperature behaviour and they can be used all year round. 80W90 transmission oils are characterized by a high load carrying capacity, which enables them to be used in heavy machinery. The oils are suitable for hypoid axle drives with small or large axle offsets and synchronised manual transmissions. In addition, they can be used in steering and transfer gearboxes of motor vehicles and working machines. The transmission oils 80W90 meet the specifications API GL-4 or API GL-5. With our Oilfinder you can check whether oil of class SAE 80W90 is suitable for your gearbox.

SAE 80W90 meaning
80W90 stands for the SAE class, for which transmission oil must have characteristic properties. This classification is made by the Society of Automotive Engineers. In the case of multigrade oil, the flow properties of the oil at certain temperatures are particularly important in this context. The value before the "W" (W=winter suitability) indicates the flowability of the oil at cold temperatures. Transmission oils with 80W remain flowable down to -26°C. You are well prepared for Central European winters. The number "90" refers to the kinematic viscosity of the gear oil at 100 °C. This comprises a range of 13.5 - 18.4 mm²/s. The oil has a high shear stability and can withstand high loads in the gearbox.
