VW 50200 approval for engine oils

The engine oil specification VW 50200 is issued by Volkswagen for cars with gasoline engines and fixed change intervals (annually or every 15,000 kilometres). VW 50200 is the further development of the standards VW 501 01 and VW 500 00. The standard VW 50400 is again the successor standard of VW 50200. If your car is approved for VW 50200, you can also fill in oil with release VW 50400 without hesitation. Possible viscosity classes for VW 50200 are SAE 0w30, SAE 5w30, SAE 10w30, SAE 0w40, SAE 5w40 and SAE 10w40. The VW standard 50200 also applies to gasoline engines of the affiliates Audi, Skoda and Seat.
